The Government of India has conceded this long pending demand of the State Government. With the issue of amendment Notification accepting  the demand, it has not only benefited the Tamang and Limboo communities living in Sikkim but elsewhere in this great country of ours.

The State Government expects similar consideration  Gurung, Mangar, Sunwar, Rai and Bhujel communities who are ethnic communities of Sikkim having distinct characteristics of its own vis-à-vis other communities in terms of language, dialects, customs, traditions, etc. and they fulfil all the eligibility requirements for being notified as Scheduled Tribes.
